The International Olive Council joined the Agricultural University of Athens to celebrate its 100th anniversary by organising the advanced course on hygiene control and quality management in the table olive industry.
Both the IOC Executive Director, Abdellatif Ghedira, and the University Rector, Spyridon Kintzios, took part in the launch. In their intro ductory speeches, they stressed the importance of the course for the technicians and professionals participating from Algeria, Croatia, Greece, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Latvia, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey.
During the course, top experts in the field from the IOC and Greece shared their knowledge on a wide range of topics, including table olive processing, quality management, safety, hygiene standards, microbiological criteria and sensory assessment.
Course Director Efstathios Z. Panagou, and Head of the Olive Growing, Olive Oil Technology and Environment Unit of the IOC Abdelkrim Adi closed the course together.
