Madrid - The Executive Director of the International Olive Council, Abdellatif Ghedira, met with Eloise Stancioff, the CEO of a start-up seeking to create opportunities for small-scale farmers, in particular olive growers, in the food supply chain. The team of 5rivers is looking to develop an instrument that will facilitate market access for small-scale olive farmers by guaranteeing the traceability of products and food security, and by reducing logistical costs, in particular on transport and communications. Mr Ghedira welcomed this initiative and undertook, as soon as the start-up has finished developing the project’s software, to help promote this innovative concept, which could be a precious catalyst for the development of small-scale olive growing.
