The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Montenegro, Petar Ivanovic, visited the headquarters of the International Olive Council on 4 March 2013 where he met with the IOC Executive Director and Deputy Director.
Discussions focused on the programmes both underway and in the pipeline in Montenegro in the olive and olive oil sector. Both sides agreed, in particular, to work on strengthening the ties between Montenegro and the IOC in order for more, concrete technical olive cooperation projects to materialise. The Ministry plans to appoint an official to be in charge of olive oil affairs and to identify industry representatives to take up the places assigned to Montenegro on the IOC Advisory Committee on Olive Oil and Table Olives.
