TRADE FIGURES IN THE EUROPEAN UNION (EU-27) FOR OLIVE OIL AND TABLE OLIVES

In March 2023, the unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €600 per 100kg (+2% compared to the previous month).
As for the first estimates of the 2021/2022 crop year, extra-EU exports of olive oil reached 819,973 tonnes for an estimated value of €3,578 billion (+2% and +25.3%, respectively, compared to the previous crop year).
In March of the 2022/2023 crop year, the unit value index of extra-EU exports of olive oil increased by +1.6% compared to the previous month. The unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €600 per 100kg (+2% compared to the previous month).

On the other hand, also in March, the imports of the EU from Tunisia reached 7,004.6 tonnes (+1.2%, compared to the previous month).
As for table olives, the first estimates of the 2021/2022 crop year put extra-EU exports at 322,670 tonnes and at an estimated value of €1,002 billion (+3.5% and +15.3%, respectively, compared to the previous crop year).
Extra-EU imports of table olives in the month of March mainly came mainly from Morocco (-21.2%), Türkiye (-13.9%), Egypt (+177.3%) and Albania (+17.9%). The figures in parentheses indicate the evolution of these imports with regards to the same period of the previous crop year.
