The IOC is now accepting applications for scholarships for the International Expert Course in Virgin Olive Oil Tasting taught at the University of Jaén (Spain). The course is designed with the aim of fostering the transfer of technology in order to enhance the tasting skills of the participants, transmitting the theoretical bases of virgin olive oil sensory evaluation and its methodology, relating the organoleptic characteristics of the olive oils with the culture methods and extraction processes, as well as with other general physical and chemical parameters of the quality control. Professionals from IOC member countries with at least five years of experience in olive oil mills, olive oil quality control, or olive oil research and/or development, as well as with a minimum academic background, are invited to apply. The course will take place from September 25 to December 19, 2024, in Jaén.
