The March 2022 issue of the IOC newsletter is now available online. This month, in addition to economic data and a summary of the activities of the operational units of the Executive Secretariat, the issue includes two items of particular importance to the Organisation. The first is the upcoming entry of Saudi Arabia into the IOC. The Gulf giant is prepared to apply the standards of the IOC and has begun its membership process, which should be completed by the end of 2022. The other issue that continues to preoccupy the sector is labelling. Executive Director Abdellatif Ghedira, Deputy Executive Director Jaime Lillo and the Head of the Standardisation and Research Unit, Mercedes Fernandez, met with EU Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides to discuss the issue.
