Provisional data for the 2019/20 crop year point to a 0.44% decrease, leaving consumption at 667 500 t. Estimates for the 2020/21 crop year put consumption at 687 500 t.
The trade figures for table olive in the eight main markets in the first 12 months of the current crop year show a -4.3% compared to the same period the previous crop year.
The United States accounts for around 24% of world imports of table olive, placing it in first place followed by Brazil 17%; and the European Union with with 16%;. This makes a total of 57% of imports worldwide.
