In June of the 2020/2021 crop year, the unit value index of extra-EU exports increased by +2.9% compared to the previous month. The unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €377 per 100kg (+3.8% compared to the previous month).
Spanish exports of olive oil reached 1 117 759 tonnes in the 2019/2020 crop year for an estimated value of €2.795 billion, placing it in first place followed by Italy with 355 669 tonnes and €1.358 billion ; Portugal with 209 069 tonnes and €589.4 millions ; and Greece with 160 851 tonnes and €450.7 millions.
In the 2019/2020 crop year, extra-EU exports of olive oil reached 820 496 tonnes for an estimated value of €2.693 billion (+15.8% and +0% , respectively, compared to the previous crop year).

In terms of volumes by product category in the 2019/2020 crop year, 70.7% of total exports were under code 15091020 (extra virgin olive oil), followed by imports under 15091080 (Virgin olive oil) with 5.8%, 15099000 (Other olive oils) with 19.1%, and the remaining 4.4% under 15091010 (Virgin lampante).
In June of the 2020/2021 crop year, the unit value index of extra-EU exports stood at 88.3 (+43.1% compared to the same period previous crop year or +2.9% compared to the previous month).
Also in June of the 2020/2021 crop year, the unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €377 per 100kg (+20.5% compared to the same period previous crop year or +3.8% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 64 655.7 tonnes (-16.8% compared to the same period previous crop year or -6.5% compared to the previous month).

Spain
The IOC’s figures for Spain from June of the 2020/2021 crop year put the unit value index of exports at 96.9 (+61% compared to the same period previous crop year or +3.1% compared to the previous month).
The unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €332 per 100kg (+19.9% compared to the same period previous crop year or +4.4% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 37 924.6 tonnes (-24.8% compared to the same period previous crop year or -3.5% compared to the previous month).
Spanish exports mainly went to Australia(+3.8%), Brazil(+20.6%), Canada(-28.2%), China(+6.3%), Japan(-13.8%), Republic of Korea(+36.4%), Russian Federation(+119.1%), United kingdom(-63.6%), United States(-37.2%), compared to the same period the previous crop year.

The IOC’s figures for Italy from June of the 2020/2021 crop year put the unit value index at 90.1 (+37.3% compared to the same period previous crop year or +0.8% compared to the previous month).
The unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €447 per 100kg (+15.1% compared to the same period previous crop year or +3.2% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 16 956.6 tonnes (-7.3% compared to the same period previous crop year or -19.3% compared to the previous month).
Extra-EU exports mainly went to Australia(-25.5%), Brazil(+1.7%), Canada(-24.5%), China(+4.8%), Japan(+40.2%), Republic of Korea(+84.6%), Russian Federation(-34.5%), United kingdom(-15.6%), United States(-16.3%), compared to the same period the previous crop year.

The unit value of intra-EU exports stood at €352 per 100kg (+25.1% compared to the same period previous crop year or -2.2% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 10 890.3 tonnes (+47.1% compared to the same period previous crop year or -24.1% compared to the previous month).
Portugal
The IOC’s figures for Portugal from June of the 2020/2021 crop year put the unit value index of exports at 99.8 (+67.7% compared to the same period previous crop year or +8.1% compared to the previous month).
The unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €420 per 100kg (+28% compared to the same period previous crop year or +9.3% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 5 944.2 tonnes (-3.3% compared to the same period previous crop year or +10.9% compared to the previous month). The volume exported to Brazil was -1.4% compared to the same period the previous crop year.
The unit value of intra-EU exports stood at €275 per 100kg (+17.3% compared to the same period previous crop year or -2.7% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 6 774.5 tonnes (-42.4% compared to the same period previous crop year or -34.5% compared to the previous month).
