In July of the 2020/2021 crop year, the unit value index of extra-EU exports increased by +4.9% compared to the previous month. The unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €392 per 100kg (+4.2% compared to the previous month).
Spanish exports of olive oil reached 1 117 892 tonnes in the 2019/2020 crop year for an estimated value of €2.796 billion, placing it in first place followed by Italy with 355 669 tonnes and €1.358 billion ; Portugal with 209 042 tonnes and €589.3 millions ; and Greece with 160 851 tonnes and €450.7 millions.
In the 2019/2020 crop year, extra-EU exports of olive oil reached 820 492 tonnes for an estimated value of €2.693 billion (+15.8% and +0% , respectively, compared to the previous crop year).

In terms of volumes by product category in the 2019/2020 crop year, 70.7% of total exports were under code 15091020 (extra virgin olive oil), followed by imports under 15091080 (Virgin olive oil) with 5.8%, 15099000 (Other olive oils) with 19.1%, and the remaining 4.4% under 15091010 (Virgin lampante).
In July of the 2020/2021 crop year, the unit value index of extra-EU exports stood at 93.7 (+49% compared to the same period previous crop year or +4.9% compared to the previous month).
Also in July of the 2020/2021 crop year, the unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €392 per 100kg (+21.4% compared to the same period previous crop year or +4.2% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 60 194.5 tonnes (-24.7% compared to the same period previous crop year or -6.9% compared to the previous month).

Spain
The IOC’s figures for Spain from July of the 2020/2021 crop year put the unit value index of exports at 102.8 (+69.4% compared to the same period previous crop year or +4.6% compared to the previous month).
The unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €348 per 100kg (+21.5% compared to the same period previous crop year or +5.1% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 34 493.9 tonnes (-25.8% compared to the same period previous crop year or -9% compared to the previous month).
Spanish exports mainly went to Australia(-24.1%), Brazil(+14.3%), Canada(-6.9%), China(-49.2%), Japan(-28.2%), Republic of Korea(+25.9%), Russian Federation(-9.7%), United kingdom(-47.7%), United States(-40.3%), compared to the same period the previous crop year.

The IOC’s figures for Italy from July of the 2020/2021 crop year put the unit value index at 93.5 (+38.7% compared to the same period previous crop year or +3% compared to the previous month).
The unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €456 per 100kg (+19.9% compared to the same period previous crop year or +2.1% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 15 501.6 tonnes (-33.1% compared to the same period previous crop year or -8.6% compared to the previous month).
Extra-EU exports mainly went to Australia(-12.4%), Brazil(+2.4%), Canada(-54.9%), China(+41.7%), Japan(-7%), Republic of Korea(+110.2%), Russian Federation(-16.9%), United kingdom(-39.9%), United States(-46.8%), compared to the same period the previous crop year.
The unit value of intra-EU exports stood at €403 per 100kg (+11.3% compared to the same period previous crop year or +3% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 11 653.7 tonnes (-4.6% compared to the same period previous crop year or -10.1% compared to the previous month).

The IOC’s figures for Greece from July of the 2020/2021 crop year put unit value index of exports at 119.2 (+85.4% compared to the same period previous crop year or +3.3% compared to the previous month).

The unit value of intra-EU exports stood at €373 per 100kg (+35.2% compared to the same period previous crop year or +5.8% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 9 208.4 tonnes (-11.9% compared to the same period previous crop year or -17% compared to the previous month).
Portugal
The IOC’s figures for Portugal from July of the 2020/2021 crop year put the unit value index of exports at 106.4 (+75.3% compared to the same period previous crop year or +3.3% compared to the previous month).
The unit value of extra-EU exports stood at €436 per 100kg (+32.7% compared to the same period previous crop year or +3.9% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 6 730.8 tonnes (-2.3% compared to the same period previous crop year or +13.2% compared to the previous month). The volume exported to Brazil was -4.8% compared to the same period the previous crop year.
The unit value of intra-EU exports stood at €305 per 100kg (+30.1% compared to the same period previous crop year or +9% compared to the previous month) while the export volume stood at 5 936.1 tonnes (-33.7% compared to the same period previous crop year or -10.1% compared to the previous month).
