IMPORT FIGURES OF TABLE OLIVES IN THE EUROPEAN UNION (EU-27)

In June of the 2023/2024 crop year the unit value of extra-EU imports stood at € 247 per 100kg (+1.4% compared to the previous month).

Also in June, extra-EU imports mainly came from Morocco(-13.2%), Türkiye(-29.6%), Egypt(+152.9%), and Albania(+5.9%), compared to the same period the previous crop year.

As for first estimates of the 2022/2023 crop year, extra-EU imports of table olives reached 106 521 tonnes for an estimated value of €226.6 million (-4.5% and +11.1% , respectively, compared to the previous crop year).

On the other hand, intra-EU imports reached 385 702 tonnes for an estimated value of €874.6 million (+3.1% and +11.8%, respectively, compared to the previous crop year).

In terms of volumes by product category, 77.5% of total imports were under code 20057000 (olives, prepared or preserved otherwise than by vinegar or acetic acid (excl. frozen)) in the 2022/2023 crop year, followed by imports under 20019065 with 5.6%, 07099210 with 7%, 07112010 with 8.5%, and the remaining 1.5% under 07108010.

In June of the 2023/2024 crop year, the unit value of extra-EU imports of table olives stood at €247 per 100kg (+11.6% compared to the same period previous crop year or +1.4% compared to the previous month) while the import volume stood at 11 017.1 tonnes (+14% compared to the same period previous crop year or -15.1% compared to the previous month).
