New York (June 27, 2018) – The International Olive Council, the worldwide body that sets international trade standards for the olive and olive oil industry, hosts the 2018 Mario Solinas Quality Awards on Friday, June 29, in New York at the Whitby Hotel in Manhattan. Attendance at the ceremony is by invitation only, but the entire event will be livestreamed by BrandLive. Presentations will be available to anyone interested in the awards, as well as the Olive Oil Promise – the promise of flavor, health and quality.
The one-day event will honor producers of olive oils that exemplify winning qualities in four distinct categories. The categories include intense green fruitiness, medium green fruitiness, mild green fruitiness and ripe green fruitiness. This year’s winners come from all over the world – including Spain, Morocco, Portugal and for the first time ever, China – demonstrating the diversity among high-quality oils and the influence of varietal, soil and climate.
